The Ways of the Alongsider – Take II

When you think of "walking alongside" someone who wants to be a follower of Jesus, it seems like something that any of us can do. And it is! It's a natural yet intentional way to help someone learn and grow in Christ and become an Alongsider themselves.

While it is a more natural way to disciple, I think it is important to spend a little time reflecting on the character traits and skills needed to be an effective Alongsider. Bill Mowry, a Columbus native, has written an excellent workbook to help us do just that. Click on The Ways of the Alongsider to review the book. Bill will be working with our church to help us become effective disciplers.

Jarrod and I are inviting you to be part of the Alongsider Training that will begin this Sunday, June 26th, at 4:00 pm at my house (575 Raab St. Pickerington, OH). We will meet each Sunday afternoon thereafter (except for July 3rd) until the ten sessions are completed. We know that vacations and summer activities might keep you from being at all sessions, but that's okay.

I think you will find that this investment of a small amount of time now will pay dividends not only for you, but for others that need to be part of the kingdom. Will you prayerfully consider this invitation? Do you want to know how to come alongside someone to help them know Jesus? Please let me know ASAP if you are going to participate so that I can get you a workbook.
